What to Expect from an Eye test?

When you go for your eye exam you should take with you any glasses that you already wear. It would be a good idea to take your General Practitioner’s/ doctors name and address with you.

Eye tests normally lasts for a minimum of 20 minutes and should normally cover the following, but the order can vary: looking at the back of the eye, eye chart tests, looking at the inner lens of the eye. Many questions posed initially are routine to discover the nature of the visit and select tests appropriate to you.

The reason for your visit is asked by the Optometrist, general routine visit or having problems like headaches, eye strain or eye pain and discomfort so that the optometrist can concentrate on your particular concerns. You should mention any other concerns you have about your eyesight in detail. Special demands on your eyes created by work and hobbies may need to be addressed, such as itricate work or extended computer use.
